About Us
The Ecological Footprint represents the amount of land and resources consumed by our communities to satisfy the needs of our modern lifestyle. If the world's population used resources at the same rate as Sydneysiders, conservative estimates place the current Ecological Footprint as the equivalent of requiring 3 to 4 planets of resources each year.
The 3-Council Ecological Footprint Program between Randwick, Waverley and Woollahra Councils is an innovative challenge for the Councils and their communities, to work together to implement a range of tangible actions capable of producing measurable reductions in their overall Ecological Footprint.
This program is assisted by the New South Wales Government through its Environmental Trust. The NSW Environmental Trust is an independent statutory body established by the NSW Government to support exceptional environmental projects.
